A work request can be linked with a design in two ways. The design can be either attached or associated to the work request. An attached design is the one intended for implementation whereas an associated design is simply a candidate for implementation.

A work request can have only one attached design but more than one associated design. A work request submitted for construction must be accompanied by an attached design. In performing design work for a work request, you can also detach and associate designs that you have previously linked to the work request. These tasks can be performed while working in either the My Work folder, the My Designs folder, or the Design Assistant.
